What are Carbapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE)?  Carbapenem–resistant Enterobacteriaceae are bacteria that are resistant to the carbapenem group of antibiotics (i.e. ertapenem, imipenem, meropenem and doripenem).
